Ok so, you’ve decided you want to lose some weight (just a few pounds or maybe a huge chunk of your body m\/ass), you’ve done the research…right, on diets, plans, gyms, exercises, basically what you can find on -show me the abs-. You probably realized that most credible sources will inform you that weight loss and fitness essentially go hand in hand.

Fact number 1- If you want to lose a few pounds, you first need to evaluate some facts. The obvious one is that if you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose poundage. You can chose to, not exercise, eat well or very little in order to lose weight, or you can commit to a fitness plan that will burn enough calories and not be malnourished. Also importantly is to note, drastically reducing your calorie consumption can backfire on you and your body will slow your metabolism to accommodate this adjustment in your caloric intake. This will cause you to gain weight instead of pounds lost.

Fact number 2 – a combination of water and oxygen leads to pounds of fat burned off of your body. Double check that you are getting at least a half gallon (8 cups) of water, each and every day. In turn your body will use this water when exercising, and you to lose weight in a healthy manner. Remember, commit to combining your water input with some form of aerobic exercise (EX: fast pasted walking = increased oxygen) for this to be successful. Choose an exercise that you like and will do on a regular basis like Walking, biking, swimming, yard work, etc. As long as you target your heart rate and it’s an adequate fat burning exercise.

Fact number 3 of course-, consistency, the fundamental ingredient when it comes to your pounds lost and your fitness plan. Most people jump into a healthy life style to quickly with a lack luster mindset that they’ll keep up the pace for a few weeks or a month or 2 and then they can go back to their comfort zone life.

Reality speaking, your plan should be committed on a daily basis through out your life. Once you start to lose the pounds, in order to maintain your desired weight, you need to eat more healthy meals obviously and be more active from day 1, keep in mind 1 day 1 decision at a time. Select an activity that you enjoy or once enjoyed that you have ignored in years [ex: roller blading]. Brisk walking is one of my favorites. If you live and work in the city, you can actually walk  to your job, save on gas, save on gym expenses, and not worry about finding time in your day to exercise. No matter where you live, find the time to take a 15-20-minute brisk walk around your neighborhood. The relation between pounds lost and fitness is too powerful for you to ignore. Listen, select your plan, stick with it each day and before you realize, it will be engrained in your daily life style.
